Regions to discover

San José

San José is a province and the capital city of Costa Rica. It is located in the central part of the country and part of the central valley. At 1,172 m above sea level it has a climate of spring year round. Known for its green, fertile land, coffee plantations, and its two famous volcanoes: Poás and Irazú.
The Museo Nacional is worth a visit and gives a general overview of the country’s history along with beautiful gardens and information about the wildlife found here. Outside the museum there is one of the famous spheres of Costa Rica – dating back thousand of years. Nobody is sure how they were sculpted so many years ago without today’s technology. Take your time exploring historic neighborhoods such as Barrio Amón, where colonial mansions have been converted into contemporary art galleries, and Barrio Escalante, the city’s gastronomic epicenter. Stroll with Saturday shoppers at the farmers market, join the Sunday crowds in Parque La Sabana or dance the night away to live music at one of the city’s vibrant clubs,
We can honestly say that San José has lost its reputation as a one night only destination.

San Carlos

Home to the Arenal Volcano and La Fortuna. Trip Advisors top rated place for adventure activities in the world!
The canton encompasses a major portion of the San Carlos Plain, a wide expanse on the Caribbean side of the Cordillera Central (Central Mountain Range). San Carlos reaches north to the border of Nicaragua, east to the province of Heredia, west to the province of Guanacaste, and south into the heights of the Cordillera.
San Carlos is noted as the home of Arenal Volcano, one of the most active volcanoes in the world. The canton’s principal economic activities include the production of oranges, yuca, pineapple, sugar cane, beef and dairy products. More than 50% of the total production of milk in Costa Rica comes from San Carlos.

Facebook Reviews

positive review  Lisa and Jack made it very easy to visit Costa Rica. I was taking 7 high school students and 2 adults down for a volunteer/service project. They arranged transportation to/from the airport, hotels, a river rafting trip, and a rental car for us. Everything worked out just fine. I didn't have to plan anything myself, which made my job easier. I would travel with them again. Highly recommended for ease of planning and traveling.

positive review  Jack arranged all of our transportation for 9 as well as activities for ages 18-80! Thank you for your patience and recommendations! We really enjoyed the Don Olivo Chocolate Tour (great for all ages!), and despite arriving on a cloudy day - our trip to Arenal Lodge and Spa to hike and enjoy lunch with an amazing view of the volcano was terrific!
